I'm always sad when the Tour de France ends. I wasn't sure I'd feel that way this year, without Lance in it, but I do. The Tour never fails to stir my emotions, with its highs and lows and the unexpected, all served up amidst the gorgeous backdrop of the French countryside and the intimidatingly beautiful mountains. And, the fact that an American is poised to win as I write this, makes it that much more exciting to watch. I've loved learning about Floyd Landis throughout the race and I'm incredibly proud that an American will win this French race for the eighth year in a row. I'm sure I'll have tears in my eyes during the podium presentation, as I did last year when Lance won and bid his final farewell to professional cycling.
Delaney's become quite the Tour enthusiast, watching with me every morning. Today, before I put her down for a nap, the Tour was on (of course!) and as we headed toward her bedroom she said, "Bye, Bi-keeees!" It's hard to believe that she was only four months old last year and couldn't sit up unassisted when we watched the Tour and now, just one year later, she's walking and talking.
*sigh*
They grow up SO fast. It's a statement I've heard thousands of times, starting during my pregnancy with Callie, but you don't REALLY get it until you experience it, huh.

I love love comparison shots. I hear this keeps happening each year. The change is insane.
She's just adorable all "grown up".
