Delaney is napping, Roger is on the home-improvement prowl and I'm supposed to be working. But I had to take a second to post since it's been a few days. We're in the midst of another lovely (referring to the time we're spending and not the weather which is still surface-of-the-sun hot) Sunday. We had breakfast while watching the Tour this morning. It's definitely not the same without Lance, but Roger and I still get into it and watch every day. I'd love to see another American win (George Hincapie is my first choice (apart from being a supremely handsome guy, he was loyal to Lance for all seven of his Tour wins), but I'd settle for Dave Zabriskie or Floyd Landis. Although, I was disappointed when Floyd left Lance's squad two years ago to go it on his own. I guess you can't blame him for wanting glory in the prime of his career, though, and he's doing great so far.).
Delaney and I went to the gym this afternoon and I dropped her at the daycare and met a friend for the yoga class. We three went for a latte afterwards and had a nice, leisurely visit in the cool comfort of Starbuck's. I've been attending more yoga classes lately (and just finished a special, four-week/eight class workshop that enlightened me further about yoga and meditation basics) and the more I go, the more I want to go. I'm gaining strength and increasing my balance, but I'm still having a bit of trouble with the half-moon posture. But, tell me, wouldn't you? I can manage to do it, but only for a few seconds. I lose my balance and fall over as soon as I glance up at my hand. I plan to work on it at home along with a few of the other poses currently challenging me. My current favorite pose? Tree.
The rest of this weekend was filled with friends and outtings. We had an impromptu happy hour at our house on Friday when friends stopped by. This spontaneous gathering led me to wonder on Saturday morning why, exactly, it took me 35 years to realize that having Gatorade in the house is a good idea. Nectar of the gods. Better late than never, I guess. On Saturday we did routine weekend shopping: dog food, diapers, wine and, of course, more Gatorade (replenish the supply or pay the price next time, sucka). Later that evening we took Delaney out to dinner with us and some friends for Mexican. She had a wonderful time eating at the table with us, making friends with the waitress and going for walks around the shady patio. When the time came to leave, she clung to one of our friends, not wanting the fun to end.
But, I think she's about to truly experience the meaning of the word fun. My step-son, Big Brother, just turned 18 and he's winding his way south from Indiana on a birthday roadtrip. He'll arrive with his traveling buddy sometime tomorrow. Delaney's meeting her Big Brother for the first time! I'm sure they'll be fast friends. Roger and I can't wait to see them together.
I hope Delaney and Big Brother have as great a time as Delaney and Big Sister had!

Yay tree pose. I love it too. I would lie on the bed when I was pregnant to do it because there was no way I could do it standing up with a giant belly! Yay for family meeting-ups too. We'll be bonding with some relatives this week too.
