If I'd been writing here lately you'd know that we just closed on the sale of our house today (woooot!).It was on the market for just over four months and although we had an offer at six weeks it fell through due to buyer financing problems. We were sad and pretty freaked out (two mortgage payments each month can do that to a person but in this economy, oy vey.) but another buyer came along and THANK GOD we sold our old house. It was the first house I'd ever owned. It was the house we lived in when we got married. It was the house where our children were conceived and where they began their lives. It was a delightful little cottage in an adorable and up-and-coming neighborhood but it simply wasn't big enough for a family of four. I will always have fond memories of our life in that house but I won't miss it. I'm so happy in our newer, larger home that is literally two minutes away from my parents' house. Moving into this new home hasn't solved all of my problems like I hoped (prayed, assumed?) it would, but it's given me a very good start.
