Saturday miscellanea

The wussy drugs my OB gave me are finally starting to kick in and oxygen is now moving (almost) freely through my nostrils. I know people (OK, especially my ENT and my OB) think I overreacted when this particular bug hit me but trust me, I lived through a particularly horrendous sinus infection before, during and after Delaney's birth. I could not breathe during labor and 8 hours of pitocin with no pain meds nor during my C-section nor for days afterward. I was on IV antibiotics for four days as well as steroids in the hospital. I took home a 15-day supply of antibiotics and another five days of steroids just to kick the beast's ass. So excuse me if a really stuffy nose gets this pregnant lady in an uproar. I DO NOT want to go through that again.

We learned on Thursday that Big Brother had an unexpected hole in his schedule so he's flying down to see us and gets here tonight. Delaney's super excited to see her big brother. He starts college week after next so we're glad he'll be able to hang with us for a few days first.

Nicole reminded me, during a post of hers this weekend, that a name change for this blog will soon be in order. It's not that I didn't already know that, but more that I've been avoiding the topic. Changing a blog's name is a precarious thing to do. And I have no idea what the new name will be. I'm toying with the idea of leaving the URL the same but changing the title in the banner. But I don't know if it will include new baby's name or take a completely different departure from the old title. Ideas? Suggestions?

Speaking of new baby's name we think we've got a boy name picked out but have nothing so far for a girl (which is totally the opposite of how things worked when I was pregnant with Delaney). I'm having a sonogram in about a week and we'll try to find out the sex then if we can. If it's a boy I think we're set. If it's a girl? I'd better pull out my arsenal of baby name books. Want to venture a guess as to what we're having? Emily from Red, W(h)ine and Boo says she's good at this game. I wonder what her guess will be.

Although we mamas don't always agree, we love to read and respectfully comment on each other's posts. There's always a fascinating exchange of ideas going on over there and at MusingMama.

And, in the most important news of all, Delaney pooped in the bathroom this morning! Sure, she was wearing a diaper, but it's a step up from under the dining room table. I think I underestimated my desire (desperation) yesterday that she learn to be potty trained soon. Especially after the diaper I changed this morning. Whew lordy, that girl can produce.
